Understanding Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness
DISC measures four behavioral styles: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. It's widely used for understanding work style and communication preferences.
| Style | Prefers | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| D | Directness, efficiency, results-focus | Overly detailed explanations, small talk |
| I | Enthusiasm, collaboration, recognition | Excessive criticism, isolation |
| S | Stability, sincerity, teamwork | Sudden changes, confrontation |
| C | Data, accuracy, time to analyze | Vagueness, rushing decisions |
Balanced teams have a mix of DISC styles. D drives results, I builds relationships, S maintains harmony, and C ensures quality. Homogeneous teams often have blind spots in their weak areas.
Most people are a blend of two styles (e.g., DI or SC). The report shows primary and secondary styles.
